I had the pleasure to work Ernest Lapore, President and Executive Pastry Chef of renowned Ferrara Cafe! He’s also the great-grandson ‘s co-founder Enrico Scoppa. Ernest is not only bringing his wonderful pastries and baked goods to HSN, but he himself will be live on-air, as the guest-host, to represent his bakery and his family…as only he can!
Ferrara, the oldest Espresso Bar in America, opened it’s doors in 1892 for opera lovers seeking delicious desserts and continental coffees. The landmark Cafe, located in the heart of NYC’s Little Italy, continues to flourish today and is known for it’s Old World ambiance, quality and freshness. Unlike competitors who have compromised standards for cost-reducing automation, Ferrara’s continues to bake in small batches, from 6:00am until Midnight. Workers are friends and family and held in high esteem.

Now…can he convey all of this history, quality and attention-to-detail on TV?
YES!! After working through demo ideas and practicing until he was annoyed (sorry Ernest) he had a rip-roaring Today’s Special success selling some 17,000 cheesecake 2-packs in a 24 hour period! That’s a lotta cheesecakes!
