Media Training for Chefs and Cooks
Considering being a cooking demonstrator on TV? Media training is a must!
Being a product demonstrator on a shopping channel like HSN, QVC or Shop NBC is a fun and challenging job but it’s certainly not for everyone!
It requires being able to talk about the product and interact with the show host while operating the product backwards so that the viewer can see what you are doing!
Plus, if you are working with an oven, fryer or other heat-producing item you can burn or hurt yourself if you aren’t careful, especially when you are running on little to no sleep!
Many, many details can make or break a presentation. Think about it…who writes the demonstrations? Who buys the groceries? Who get the product out of the boxes and sets them on the tables? Who plugs them in and pushes the tables into and out of the studio? Who washes the dishes and re-boxes the product? The answer is…a bunch of different people! But ultimately, it’s the demonstrator who is responsible for all of it because they are the one out there on live TV looking like a fool trying to cook a chicken in a cold oven with no power, utensils or plates!
