Although my blog is titled The Kitchen Authority and gives recipes, tips and other advice to consumers who USE products…it’s a whole lot more than that. It’s also for businesses or anyone who SELLS products within the Housewares Industry. Here’s why my blog is right for you:
How do you sell your products? Where do you you sell your products?
- Demonstrations On TV or in Retail
- Videos and Print On your Website and Social Media Sites
- Trade Shows
- Brick and Mortar Retail Stores & Outlets
- B2B
- Catalogue Sheets
You know what? It doesn’t matter because the objective is always the same:
Getting people to buy what you are selling
How to do that has been the focus of thousands of books, discussions, webinars, seminars, studies and surveys but if you cut right down to the basics, the answer is that you get people to buy what you are selling by:
Making them Want it!
How to make them want it is really the end game. Although there are certain sales steps, techniques and methodology that apply across the board, I think the more focused and specialized you are within the product category and with the end user of that category, the better you will be at making the customer want the product.
I know Kitchen and I know Housewares.
I know Kitchen products and I know Housewares products and I know how to sell them because I know how to make people want them. End consumers and resellers.
So what makes me better at selling these products than other salespeople with the same product knowledge?
The ability to write and execute powerful demonstrations.
When it comes to Kitchen and many Housewares products, a good sales pitch is just not enough. Consumers need to SEE the product in action or they don’t get it. If they don’t get it, they don’t want it and if they don’t want it, you won’t sell it. Period.
Take a look at one of your products that just doesn’t sell like it should. Could it benefit from a demonstration? If you took it in to a sales meeting or appointment and actually showed it in action, would it be more compelling? Most often, the answer will be yes.
“My blender will even make salsa!” or ”Watch my blender zip through these whole tomatoes and huge chunks of onion…taste this salsa!”
Well? Seeing is a little more compelling right?
What about at retail? Maybe you need a Point-Of-Sale Video.
What about on your website or other online venues? Maybe you need a Point-Of-Click Video.
